We are excited to introduce the newest member of our HCCSO team, Rebecca Gosselin! Rebecca is at the helm of our Healthy Start program, and is already bringing fresh energy and ideas since starting in June 2021. After serving non-profits overseas for several years, Rebecca is putting her many talents to work here in Southern Oregon — and we’re happy to welcome her! Here’s a message from Rebecca…

As the new Healthy Start Program Manager, it is my job to work with our local community, federal funders and partners to ensure that we are fulfilling our mission and improving the health outcomes for parents and babies throughout Douglas and Josephine County.

My Journey to Healthy Start

Even prior to working with Healthy Start I focused my career on collective impact and supporting the local communities in which I resided. With a degree in Criminal Justice, I spent my final year in college interning within the Albany County District Attorney’s Office as a part of their Community Justice Outreach and Crime Victims units.  After graduation, I continued on to become a Program Manager for a local nonprofit which provided housing opportunities to the homeless population, and then eventually, I moved overseas to provide emergency, health and safety and referral resources to our military families far from home.

While working with our military, I gained an immense appreciation for the impact and importance of organizations like HCCSO. Seeing families from all walks of life, thousands of miles from their normal support systems, thrive as a direct result from the hard work of these organizations drew me to this wonderful opportunity and reignited my passion for developing community-based services.

My Goals for Healthy Start

During my first year as the Healthy Start Program Manager, my primary goals are to continue the ongoing implementation of vital programs and resources to our numerous clients. I will also be focusing on identifying the most effective ways to continue improving health outcomes through our flourishing partnerships.  I strongly believe that maintaining our strong relationships throughout each county and with our community partners is key to serving our Healthy Start clients and families well.

I truly look forward to growing with and becoming a part of the Southern Oregon community!
