Our biggest community engagement event is the Welcome Baby Community Baby Shower and Resource Fair. We’re presenting this event virtually in an effort to reach people in new and innovative ways, and to increase access to the resources that this event offers!

Monday, April 25: Breastfeeding
Join us for Day 1 of the Spring Welcome Baby Shower! Enter to win prizes and get educational tidbits throughout the day on our Facebook page. Tune into our Live panel session all about breastfeeding basics, and then dive deeper with a late-morning session about setting breastfeeding expectations and goals for you and baby. Bring your questions to type into the comments, and get answers live!

Tuesday, April 26: Fatherhood
Day 2 of the Spring Welcome Baby Shower is all about dads and partners. Get connected with resources to support your unique and special journey with baby. Plus, we’ll see a live car seat safety demostration from Grants Pass Fire & Rescue! Learn what you need to know about installation, the best place in the car for baby, and where to have your car seat checked locally.

Your mental health and your baby’s mental health are connected — you’re on a journey together! Join us on Facebook Live today to hear about local resources that are available when you need them, from parenting support groups to 24-hour call lines. Plus, we’ll talk about a period in baby’s life called Purple Cry Time…what it is, what to expect, and how to cope until it ends (it does end!).

Thursday, April 28: Birthing & Parenting Classes
Day 4 is all about education. Parenting is a journey, and there’s lots to learn along the way! Get a sneak peek into birthing classes — many will help you prepare a birth plan, get a hospital tour, plan a packing list for yourself and baby, and more! Then at lunchtime, hear about parenting classes happening near you. We have so many great resources for families in Southern Oregon to connect, learn, and grow togther.

Thank you for celebrating with us! Join us today on Facebook as we announce the prize winners from each day of our Virtual Welcome Baby Shower, and answer any looming questions from our live panels throughout the week. Plus, we’ll talk about a period in baby’s life called Purple Cry Time…what it is, what to expect, and how to cope until it ends (it does end!).
To wrap up the week, bring along baby for two read aloud sessions, and get tips for making reading time special at home.
