The FAN is based on the belief that people need to feel connected and understood in order to be open to change. Our FAN tool ensures practitioners read cues from parents and themselves and thus\, provide empathetic and appropriate responses. \n The Practitioner FAN training is a team-based training\, so you will attend with the rest of your team. (If your team has already been FAN-trained\, but you haven’t\, you are welcome to attend this training without the rest \nThe Practitioner FAN is a 7-month training experience. Here is what the training includes: \n\nMonth 1: September 2021—Initial training. Four half-days of virtual training\, introducing you to the FAN concepts. (September 27\, 28\, 29\, and 30\, from 1-4 pm)\nMonths 2-7: October 2021 through March 2022—Home visitors will practice using the FAN with families you serve and document your progress with your supervisor. If you are a supervisor\, you will practice using the FAN with home visitors you support and meet monthly for reflective mentoring with a FAN trainer.\nMonth 7: April 2022—Final training day. One full day of in-person training\, reviewing and deepening your practice of the FAN. (April 5\, 2022\, from 9 am to 4 pm\, in Roseburg\, OR.)
