Child Abuse in Douglas County

What: Participants will hear about what child abuse and neglect look like in our community and statistics and stories to help us understand what’s happening in our neighborhoods. They will discuss the long term effects of childhood trauma and then share prevention and response efforts including the role Douglas CARES plays in our county. Participants will learn the best way they can help a family in need or step in when they think something bad has happened to a child. Join us on this journey of knowledge and hope as we explore how each of us can be a hero in the life of a child.
Who are the facilitators: Nikole Fishel, Lead Forensic Interviewer and MDT Coordinator and Tami Terry, Task Force and Advocacy Coordinator.
