Welcome Baby!

Celebrate & Support Families

Each year, our community welcomes about 1,000 new babies! Because babies don’t come with instructions, all parents can benefit from additional support as they welcome their newest additions. We love the opportunity to celebrate and support families with our Welcome Baby Community Baby Shower. Due to the challenges of COVID-19, we have shifted our plans to keep this event going strong!

Healthy Start of Southern Oregon

Healthy Start of Southern Oregon

Southern Oregon is home to higher than average rates of infant mortality and health disparities for mothers and their babies. We aim to reduce these rates through community-based services for women, infants, and their families. Healthy Start of Southern Oregon provides direct client services through partnering agencies and also convenes task forces in Josephine and Douglas Counties to improve systems of care related to infant and maternal health.
Perinatal Task Force Health Care Coalition Southern Oregon
Operating in Josephine and Douglas county, participants in the Task Force represent agencies, service providers, and community groups that have a strong focus on overall health for families before, during, and after pregnancy. Together we:

  • Network
  • Learn about services
  • Explore community needs
  • Plan and host community events
  • Provide professional development opportunities

Were excited to be the recipient of a grant from AllCare Health to expand the Perinatal Task Force into Jackson County!

The Perinatal Task Force is an arm of our Healthy Start program, and is comprised of members who work to improve health outcomes for women and infants during pre-conception, prenatal, postnatal, and early parenting stages of family life. We look forward to using these funds to expand the existing Josephine and Douglas County Task Force!
