The Welcome Baby Community Baby Shower is one of the most anticipated annual traditions for new parents in both Douglas and Josephine County!
As the Health Care Coalition of Southern Oregon’s biggest community event, it has adapted to community needs over the years. During COVID, the Baby Shower went virtual to ensure vital information was still accessible to all families who may need it. This included live video demonstrations and interviews, social media contests, and website resources for new families to access any time.
We have worked hard over the last couple of years to fully transition this event back to an in-person celebration, collaborating with local organizations to make each iteration unique and better than ever for Southern Oregon families.
Our most recent Josephine County Baby Shower was held on Saturday, September 21st at Grants Pass High School, where we hosted 150 attendees over the course of 4 hours!
Attendance is always free, and families enjoyed meals from a local food truck, free family portraits, thousands of dollars worth of giveaways, interactive demonstrations, and participation of over 20 resources.
This open-house annual event provides new and expecting parents with the invaluable opportunity to meet face-to-face with resource supports in the community. Attendees benefited from designated time to ask questions and learn about services available to them — including lactation support, child care, infant CPR and more from 24 local resource organizations. Spanish interpretation was also available at this event.
Every attending family at the 2024 Josephine County Welcome Baby Community Baby Shower was able to walk out the door with something special. We want to recognize the hard work of our community partners and leadership team for making this possible.
